Dr. Julio Cesar Tremolada Payano is a metallurgical engineer, graduated from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Perú. He holds a Master’s in Extractive Metallurgy from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, and a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from the University of Oviedo, Spain.
He has extensive experience in underground mining, open pit mining, heap leaching in gold and silver ores, mineral processing, and hydrometallurgical process for treating ores of gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc.
His experience includes optimising startup operations, studies of environmental impact, feasibility studies, metallurgical leach tests, obtaining mining operation permits, detailed engineering design of pits, layered leaching, gravel leachate management, construction of access roads, and engineering design of concentrator plants. He has held numerous positions, ranging from Junior Metallurgist Engineer to Project Manager and General Manager.
